Create Etsy Templates & Recipes

You can save Etsy listing attributes as templates and apply it to other listings in bulk to save time and effort. Templates can be created for Title, Description, Price, Category, etc. For more information on how to apply templates, please see Templates and Recipes.

How to create Etsy templates & recipes

To create a new template, from your dashboard, navigate to Listing template and recipe > Listing Templates.

Choose your Etsy channel from the left panel to create and edit templates for Etsy listings.

1. Category Template

Start by giving your LitCommerce’s template a nickname so you can easily find it when needed. If you choose the template as default, it will automatically be applied when you create new Etsy listings.

The first section of the Category Template, “About These Items”, allows you to identify what type of items you’re selling, with Etsy’s 3 listing identifiers:

Who Made These Items?
What Are They?
When Were They Made?

Simply click and choose the suitable answers for your questions.

Next, set up the primary category by typing in your option in the search box and choosing the main category for your Etsy listing.

You can easily set up other necessary info of your listing category namely shop section, tags, materials, occasion, holiday, etc.

When you’ve done, just click S**ave** to complete the process.

2. Title & Description Templates

First, fill in the template’s nickname and you can choose to use it as default as well.

Next, fill in the template for Title and Description that you want for your Etsy listings. You can insert listing attributes in the template, which will be in the form of placeholders and will be replaced by actual product data when creating listings. To insert an attribute, click on the box next to the Title or Description field, and select from the dropdown list.

For example:

Title: {{name}} by {{brand}}, Model number {{manufacturermodel_number}}_
Description: This product is {{ name }}, made by {{ brand }}, and it costs {{ price }}

Click Save when you are done and apply the template for your listings.

3. Pricing Templates

Pricing Templates lets you customize the pricing for all of your listings.

You can choose to increase or decrease the price by percent or a specific amount. Also, you can go with the override option to replace the current product’s price with a fixed one.

Note: You can use the Price Rules feature for currency conversion if you’re selling overseas. To convert the currency, go to Google.com and search for the current exchange rate from your Main store currency to the currency of your sales channel.

If the rate is greater than 1, then substract 1 from the rate and multiply the result by 100. Choose Increase in the first box.
If the rate is smaller than 1, then substract the rate from 1 and multiply the result by 100. Choose Decrease in the first box.

Enter the result in the Price Adjustment section and set the unit to Percent (%).

After that, hit Save to complete the pricing template.

4. Shipping Templates

The Shipping Template for Etsy lets you specify the shipping profile you wish to offer on certain groups of listings.

After giving the template a nickname, go ahead and choose the shipping profile from the options below. LitCommerce will automatically use the available profile you’ve set up from Etsy. Note that Etsy shipping profiles must be created on Etsy and automatically imported to LitCommerce when you connect your Etsy account.

Create Etsy recipe

A recipe is just a collection of multiple templates that you’ve had. To create a new one, from the dashboard, navigate to your channel then choose Listing Recipe then click Add new recipe template.

Next, give it a name, choose the template you like from the dropdown list, and click Save to complete. After that, you can freely apply the whole recipe to your listing from the central catalog.
