How to List Products on eBay

Once the Main Store and the first Sales Channel are successfully set up, all products from your Main Store will be imported to the All Products tab in LitCommerce.

This article provides a step-by-step guide to help you list your Products from your Main Store to eBay using LitCommerce.

Step 1: Add Draft Listings to the eBay channel from All Products

To list on eBay, you will need to add a draft Listing to the eBay channel in LitCommerce.

Go to the All Products tab in the Sidebar Menu.

Select the Products that you want to list on eBay and click Select Action > List Products to Channels:

Choose the eBay channel and click Add As Draft Now.

When creating a draft listing for eBay for the first time, the "Add Default Templates" pop-up will appear. This pop-up, shown only during the initial creation of draft listings, displays essential templates (e.g., Category and Shipping templates) to help you apply consistent information across multiple listings.

Once added, these templates automatically become the default templates for the channel and can only be set up once using this method.

You can choose to SKIP THIS STEP to bypass the process. If skipped, the pop-up will not reappear for future draft listings.

Step 2: Edit draft Listings in the eBay channel in LitCommerce

After adding Products as draft Listings, you can find them in the eBay channel on the Sidebar Menu.

To edit the listing, click on the Listing title to access the Listing page and complete the Listing information according to eBay’s requirements.

The Listing page in the eBay channel consists of the following tabs:

Product Identifier (or Variations Identifier)
Title & Description
Images
Pricing (for Simple Listing)
Variations (for Variant Listing)
Category
Shipping
Payment & Return
Business Policies

While the Product Identifier, Images, Pricing, and Variations tabs are imported directly from All Products, you must manually complete the remaining tabs to meet eBay’s requirements. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*).

Category

Select the Primary Category from eBay’s available options.

By default, LitCommerce uses the listing title to suggest a matching category. If the suggested category isn’t suitable, enter any keywords to find another one.

Alternatively, you can browse from the list of Categories. Ensure you select an end-leaf category.

For Variant Listings, enable Variation Enabled Only to find categories that eBay supports variants.

If you have the eBay category ID, enter the Category #: box to automatically populate the category.

The Secondary Category and eBay Store Categories are optional. Please note that adding a second category to any Listing will incur an Insertion Fee, even for free listings. Learn more about eBay fees.

Once the Primary Category is selected, complete Item Specifics that populate below.

Shipping

Select the Shipping Service and fill in the cost. You can add additional shipping details for clearer information.

Create a shipping rate table or promotional shipping rule on eBay and select it in LitCommerce to customize shipping costs.

Refer to how to create a Shipping Rate Table and Promotional Shipping Rule on eBay.

LitCommerce only applies the information specified in the shipping tab/template directly to the Listings, without creating any new Template/Policies on your eBay store.

Payment & Return

Complete the Handling Time and the Item Location for your Listing.

Besides, you can specify if the Listing is available for return or subject to any tax payment.

Business Policies

To use this tab, your eBay store must be authorized by eBay. Once approved, you can create the Business Policies directly on eBay and return to LitCommerce to select them from the dropdown list.

If the Business Policies are applied, the Shipping and Payment & Return tab will be greyed out.

Step 3: Publish draft Listings on eBay

Once you have completed all the required information on the Listing Page, you can save and publish the Listing on eBay. Look at the bottom right corner and click on one of the buttons below:

Save & Publish: Save and publish all your changes immediately on eBay.
Save & Close: The changes are saved as a draft on LitCommerce and exit the Listing Page.
Save Changes: Save the changes but stay on the page to continue editing.

To publish multiple Listings at once, navigate to the Draft tab on the eBay channel, choose the listings, and then select the action Publish to eBay.

Once the Listings are published successfully on eBay, they will be transferred from the Draft to the Active tab.

Otherwise, LitCommerce will display the errors from eBay on the Listing Page and they must be corrected to proceed with the publication.
