Amazon API Updates: What You Need to Know
Effective March 23, 2025, Amazon is implementing significant updates to attribute usage and enumeration values.
To support users in adapting to the new requirements, we have updated LitCommerce’s API and user interface accordingly. This guide will outline the key changes and the necessary actions you need to take to remain compliant.
What’s Changing
Amazon’s updates will modify attribute usage and enumeration values for multiple product types. These changes will:
Remove redundant attributes.
Improve product listing accuracy.
Ensure better error detection and resolution for incomplete listings.
To better support sellers, we've implemented these changes in our tools. You can find the updates in the following sections:
Shipping Tab and Template
SEO Tab and Template
Listing Details Tab and Template (Only for channels with GTIN Exemption)

What You Need to Do
These updates will not affect inventory and order synchronization for existing Amazon listings. However, creating new listings or updating listing attributes will require compliance with the new fields and product data requirements.
For Channels with GTIN Exemption
To create new listings or update existing ones, you must update the below informations in the listing details or the according templates.
We highly recommend creating new templates to save time and reduce manual work.
1. Shipping tab
Shipping tab now are available for all listings.

Depends on the product type, certain fields will need to be completed before submission to Amazon. Adjustments may be required based on Amazon’s error feedback.
Old templates are hidden as they are no longer relevant.*
2. Listing Details tab
This is the section with the most impacted by the update.
You will need to update new mandatory fields such as:
Safety & Compliance information
Product Type
Variant Theme
Additional fields depends on the selected Product Type

Different product types will require different fields, please ensure all required information is provided.
Old templates are shown separately and can be used as a reference for creating new templates.*
3. SEO tab
Some fields have been added, while others have been removed.

You can start including fields such as:
Target Audience
Subject Keywords
Bullet Points
Old templates are hidden as they are no longer relevant.*
For Channels Without GTIN Exemption
Most updates are the same as in the GTIN exemption case, except for the process of listing new products on Amazon using existing ASINs.
When publishing a listing with an ASIN, certain fields must match the values already associated with that ASIN. As a result, some details in your listing or templates may be overridden by values returned from Amazon to ensure proper listing.
By proactively updating your listings and templates, you can ensure seamless compliance with Amazon’s latest requirements and maintain smooth operations on the platform. We recommend reviewing and implementing these changes as soon as possible to avoid disruptions.
