# How to create eBay Templates & Template Rules

To bulk edit multiple listings with similar attributes, you can create and apply Templates and Rules. This will automatically populate a predefined format of listing attributes.

This article will walk you through creating eBay Templates and Template Rules. More details can be found below.

## <mark style="color:$primary;">**Template**</mark>

The steps on how to create a Template can be found [HERE](https://litcommerce.gitbook.io/litcommerce-helpdesk/marketplace-integration/app-features/templates-and-template-rules#templates). Below is the breakdown of each Template on eBay.

### <mark style="color:$info;">**Title & Description Template**</mark>

The template follows the LitCommerce Title & Description Template general structure. Check out [this article](https://litcommerce.gitbook.io/litcommerce-helpdesk/marketplace-integration/app-features/templates-and-template-rules/title-and-description-template) for more details.

LitCommerce also supports eBay Custom Description Templates (HTML files that define the layout, fonts, colors, and overall design) for creating more advanced product descriptions. You may refer to [this article](https://litcommerce.gitbook.io/litcommerce-helpdesk/marketplace-integration/supported-platforms/ebay/ebay-custom-description-template).

### <mark style="color:$info;">**Pricing Template**</mark>

Both listing formats (Fixed Price and Auction) share the same price adjustment sections as follows.

* **Price Adjustment:** Follow the basic [Price Rules Options](https://litcommerce.gitbook.io/litcommerce-helpdesk/marketplace-integration/setup-and-navigation/step-by-step-setup/step-3-set-up-price-sync-options#price-rules).

* **Price Override:** Manually enter a numeric value or select a product attribute from All Products to display.

Additionally, keep in mind the following:

* **Best Offer** is only available for **Fixed Price Listing Format**. This option does not support variant listings.

* The **None** option is only available for **Auction Listing Format**.

### <mark style="color:$info;">**Category Template**</mark>

You can find the following main sections in this template.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">**Primary Category**</mark>

Search using keywords and select a Primary Category from eBay’s available options.

Alternatively, you can browse from the list of categories. Ensure you select an end-leaf category.

If the Category Template is for variant listings, enable the `Variation Enabled Only` filter to locate supported eBay categories.

**If you have the eBay category ID, enter it in the `Category ID:` box to automatically populate the category.**
{% endhint %}

#### <mark style="color:blue;">**Secondary Category**</mark>

This section shares the same options as the Primary Category.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/xS3DBfcKbm5OFw6XTe5W" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Adding a Secondary Category to the listings helps increase their visibility on eBay. However, it will incur an Insertion Fee, even for free listings. Learn more about eBay fees [HERE](https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/selling-fees?id=4822).

#### <mark style="color:blue;">**eBay Store Categories (optional)**</mark>

eBay Store Categories are custom categories you create on eBay to organize listings within your own eBay Store.&#x20;

This section is optional. You can add up to two Store Categories.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">**Format & Duration**</mark>

Specify your Listing Format and the listings' available duration using this section.

Additionally, you can set the Listing Start Date by checking the `Scheduled` box.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/wYJ7evXXU0mX95eN3soq" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### <mark style="color:blue;">**Condition**</mark>

Choose an Item Condition for your listings from the available options.

You can also add a text description to the Addition Condition Note field to provide specific details about the items' physical state.

<figure><img src="/files/9lXZhZJbCV0M1N1QIW4v" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### <mark style="color:blue;">**Item Specifics**</mark>

Item specifics are product information that helps customers make an informed decision before purchasing.

Fill in a fixed value for any required fields (marked by the red asterisk (\*)) and add supplementary information through the optional fields. This will apply to all listings using the template.

Alternatively, map the Main Store attributes to the fields using `Select Attribute` for LitCommerce to automatically populate them with corresponding values.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Item Specifics vary depending on the selected Primary Category.**
{% endhint %}

#### <mark style="color:blue;">**Custom Specifics**</mark>

You can manually add Custom Item Specifics to provide additional details not covered by the standard category fields.

#### <mark style="color:blue;">**Item Disclosures**</mark>

If you operate in or ship to the EU or Northern Ireland, you may need to provide the required information and documentation to comply with the [General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)](https://www.ebay.com/sellercenter/resources/general-product-safety-regulation).

Enable the `General Safety Compliance` and select the appropriate information.

### <mark style="color:$info;">**Business Policies Template**</mark>

To use this, your eBay store must be authorized by eBay. Start by [opting into the Business Policies program](https://www.ebay.com/bp/policyoptin) on the marketplace.

Once approved, you can [create the Business Policies directly on eBay](https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/business-policy/business-policies?id=4212) and return to LitCommerce to complete the following information

<figure><img src="/files/aoZ0hnz1tI6KZnbYTwwc" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<table><thead><tr><th width="278.66668701171875">Field</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Dimensions</strong></td><td><p>Select the weight and dimension unit, then enter their values. </p><p></p><p>You can also select a Product Attribute from All Products to map to the value.</p></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Item Location</strong></td><td>Enter the city, state, or country where the seller is shipping the listing from.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Shipping/Payment/Return Policy</strong></td><td><p>Select a policy (created on eBay) in the dropdown list to apply to the listing. </p><p></p><p>Hit <code>Refresh list of policies</code> to update the list to the latest.</p></td></tr><tr><td><strong>VAT Percent</strong></td><td>Enter a Value-Added Tax rate applied to the price of the Listing.</td></tr></tbody></table>

## <mark style="color:$primary;">**Template Rules**</mark>

eBay Template Rules follow the same instructions as the [Template Rules](https://litcommerce.gitbook.io/litcommerce-helpdesk/marketplace-integration/app-features/templates-and-template-rules#template-rules).

By following these steps, you can create and manage the Templates and Template Rules on the LitCommerce eBay channel to help ensure your listings are completed and properly structured.
