How to create Reverb Templates & Recipes

To bulk edit multiple listings with similar attributes, you can create and apply Templates and Recipes. This will automatically populate a predefined format of listing attributes.

This article walks you through creating Reverb Templates and Recipes, including:

Templates

Recipes

More details can be found below.

Templates

The steps to create a template are available HERE. This section explains each type of template used on Reverb.

Title & Description Template

The template consists of two main sections: Title and Description, each containing its respective placeholders: {{name}} and {{description}}

They retrieve the exact title and description data from your Main Store to populate the corresponding fields in your Reverb listings.

You can also use other attributes, such as Main Store fields and metafields, to add more information to your product title and description. Find them in the Select Attribute list.

If a Main Store attribute shares the same name as a supported default placeholder, the system will prioritize the attribute. To use the original placeholder, write the following format: {{product.field_name}}.

Applying the Title & Description Template to imported Reverb listings may overwrite both the title and description with Main Store data. To retain the existing Reverb title or description when using the template, input {{channel.name}} or {{channel.description}}.

Additionally, to give you more control over your product description, LitCommerce provides two toggleable editing modes: Rich Text Editor and HTML Editor.

Rich Text Editor

This mode allows you to create and format content visually, without needing to write HTML or CSS. It works like a simplified word processor built into the web interface.

The LitCommerce Rich Text Editor features a toolbar with formatting icons. Clicking an icon automatically applies the appropriate formatting to your content. You can also insert external media, such as images or videos, using the available options.

HTML Editor

Use this editor to work directly with HTML tags when creating structured product descriptions. It offers three view modes: Source Code, Code Preview, and Full Preview, to make editing and managing your content easier.

The Rich Text Editor only supports a limited set of HTML codes. Switching from the HTML Editor to the Rich Text Editor may remove unsupported codes.

Pricing Template

This template features two primary sections: Price Adjustment and Rounding. You can add multiple adjustments to modify your Reverb listings’ price based on the Main Store products.

If you are approved for Tax Exempt by Reverb, enable the Tax Exempt toggle to apply tax exemption for your Reverb sales.

Use the Price Preview tool to review how the configured price rules take effect.

Category Template

You can find the following main sections in this template.

Primary Info

Fill in the suitable value for the required fields: Brand, Model, and Condition.

Alternatively, utilize the Select Attribute list to map these Reverb fields with the Main Store fields or metafields. This allows LitCommerce to retrieve the Main Store data and populate the corresponding marketplace fields on each listing that uses the template.

For the Shopify Main Store, if products contain reverbsync-condition tags, you can check the Import Shopify tag reverbsync-condition box to have LitCommerce automatically assign the Reverb Condition field based on those tags.

Enabling the Import Shopify tag reverbsync-condition option will override any manually entered value or existing mapping in the Reverb Condition field.

Primary Category

There are two ways to add Categories to your Reverb listings.

  1. Use Category Mapping

Enable this toggle to use the Category Mappings that are set in the Channel Settings. This allows LitCommerce to automatically assign the appropriate category to the Reverb listings based on the Main Store Product Types/Categories.

This feature is only available for accounts with the Shopify or WooCommerce Main Store.

  1. Select specific categories

Select one or more Primary Categories from the available list. You may include up to two subcategories, as long as they share the same root.

Additional Details

This section includes additional information, such as Year, Finish/color, Handmade?, etc., to add to your Reverb listings. While optional, these details can give buyers more insights into your items.

Shopify Main Store products with the reverbsync-offer: on tag will have the Accept Offers? box automatically checked when listed from All Products to the LitCommerce Reverb channel.

For the Shopify Main Store, use the Auto assigned to Product Types feature to automatically apply the template to new listings that match the corresponding Main Store Product Types.

Shipping Template

Set up shipping information for bulk listings using this template. You can either:

  • Select the suitable Shipping Profile from your Reverb store.

Shipping Profile must be set up directly in your Reverb Seller Dashboard before being selected in LitCommerce.

  • Enable the Enter Manually toggle to set up your own Shipping Methods in LitCommerce.

Recipe

The Reverb Recipes follow the same instructions as the Recipe.

By following these steps, you can create and manage the templates and recipes on the LitCommerce Reverb channel to help ensure your listings are completed and properly structured.
