Template
The steps on how to create a Template can be found HERE. Below is the breakdown of each Template on eBay.
Category Template
- Select the Primary Category from eBay’s available options.
Alternatively, you can browse from the list of Categories. Ensure you select an end-leaf category.
If the Category Template is for Variant Listings, enable Variation Enabled Only
to find categories for which eBay supports variants.
- After the Primary Category is selected, the related Item Specifics will be shown below. Complete the required fields (marked with a red asterisk).
You can select a value from the dropdown list or select a Product Attribute from All Products to map the value from the Main Store and display the corresponding.
Additionally, you can manually add Custom Specifics to your eBay Listing to show more information to the potential buyers as well.
- If you are operating in or shipping to EU countries or Northern Ireland, it’s required to provide information and documents in your eBay listings to comply with the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR).
Enable this in the Item Disclosures section and select the appropriate information.
- By default, the Listing Format and Duration in the Category Template is set to Fixed Price and Good Til’ Cancel respectively. To modify them, enable
Advanced options
which can be located on top or at the bottom of the Template.
The Listing Format and Duration will be displayed below.
Additionally, you can set the Listing Start Date by clicking on the Schedule box.
Besides, Advanced options
also provides the Secondary Category and eBay Store Categories.

Title & Description Template
The template consists of two main sections: Title and Description, each containing its respective placeholders: {{name}} and {{description}}.
They retrieve the exact title and description data from your Main Store and populate the corresponding fields in your eBay listings.
You can also use other attributes, such as Main Store fields and metafields, to add more information to your product title and description. Find them in the Select Attributes
list.
Additionally, to give you more control over your product description, LitCommerce provides two toggleable editing modes: Rich Text Editor and HTML Editor.
Rich Text Editor
This mode allows you to create and format content visually, without needing to write HTML or CSS. It works like a simplified word processor built into the web interface.
The LitCommerce Rich Text Editor features a toolbar with formatting icons. Clicking an icon automatically applies the appropriate formatting to your content. You can also insert external media, such as images or videos, using the available options.
HTML Editor
Use this editor to work directly with HTML tags when creating structured product descriptions. It offers three view modes: Source Code, Code Preview, and Full Preview, to make editing and managing your content easier.
LitCommerce also supports eBay Custom Description Templates (HTML files that define the layout, fonts, colors, and overall design) for creating more advanced product descriptions. You may check out this article for more details.
Below is a comparison of the two editing modes to help you decide which one works best for you.
