# How to list products on Square

This article provides a step-by-step guide to help you list products on Square using LitCommerce.

{% hint style="info" %}
**The process transfers only products found in LitCommerce’s All Products section. Make sure to check that all your Main Store items are included, and import any missing ones if needed.**
{% endhint %}

Further details can be found below.

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="success" %}
**You can also list the listings in bulk. The `Add All Products To Channel Drafts` feature is available for paid plan users to help speed up the process.**
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/SoZ8pENG8PauCaccT2Nc" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## <mark style="color:$primary;">**Step 2: Edit Draft listings in the LitCommerce Square channel**</mark>

After completing the first stage, your listings will appear under the Draft tab in the LitCommerce Square channel.

<figure><img src="/files/L2V4ut7jxcES5vutlIvk" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can start filling in the additional information by clicking on the title to open the listing details page.

<figure><img src="/files/3BlRamIomqdGAQqVY9BU" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The page consists of the following sections.

* Title.
* Price.
* Variations.
* Category.
* Online Fulfillment Methods
* Images.
* Custom Attributes.

The data in the **Title, Price, Variations, Images, and Custom Attributes** sections is automatically imported from All Products. You must manually review these details and complete all other required fields to comply with Square's listing policies.

Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (\*).

Let’s go through each section below.

### <mark style="color:$info;">**Title**</mark>

This tab consists of the following required fields.

<figure><img src="/files/T0kI96S9iKS83VlVEMN0" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* **Product Name:** Display the product title retrieved from your Main Store. You can edit this field to customize the content specifically for Square.

* **SKU:** Show the SKU retrieved from your Main Store.

* **UPC:** Show the UPC retrieved from your Main Store. You can enter the UPC on the listing if this data is not available in the Main Store.

* **Description:** Display the product description retrieved from your Main Store. You can edit this field to customize the content specifically for Square.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Use the** [**Title & Description Template**](https://litcommerce.gitbook.io/litcommerce-helpdesk/marketplace-integration/app-features/quick-auto-list-to-channel) **to bulk edit product titles and descriptions. It populates these Square fields by mapping them to attributes from your Main Store.**
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:$info;">**Price**</mark>

This tab contains two required fields: **Price** and **Quantity**, displaying the corresponding data from your Main Store and available for editing on item level.

<figure><img src="/files/QICfvh5uiF9pTW921xSO" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**For Square stores with multiple locations, select `Manage Stock` to specify where you want to send the listing’s inventory data. The Location Mapping configuration in** [**Channel Settings**](https://litcommerce.gitbook.io/litcommerce-helpdesk/marketplace-integration/supported-platforms/square/square-channel-settings#location-mapping) **will override this setting.**
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/XBbr765gP59mhatsSkIf" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="success" %}
**You can adjust the information in bulk based on the Main Store data using rules in the Pricing Template or the** [**LitCommerce Square Channel Settings**](https://litcommerce.gitbook.io/litcommerce-helpdesk/marketplace-integration/supported-platforms/square/square-channel-settings)**.**
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:$info;">**Variations**</mark>

This section is only visible on variant listings. It displays each variation's SKU, attributes, and price.

<figure><img src="/files/qAMpcGc7ttiWLRkoeCIA" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can delete unwanted variations from the listing by clicking the `Bin` icon. However, not all variations can be removed from the parent product in the LitCommerce Square channel.

{% hint style="info" %}
**The `Manage Stock` button is available to display the variations’ quantities. It allows you to define the designated inventory locations for each variation. Each variation can distribute its inventory across multiple Square locations.**

**The Location Mapping configuration in** [**Channel Settings**](https://litcommerce.gitbook.io/litcommerce-helpdesk/marketplace-integration/supported-platforms/square/square-channel-settings#location-mapping)**, when Inventory Sync is enabled, will override the Manage Stock setting.**
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:$info;">**Category**</mark>

The Category section is essential during the listing process, as it helps provide buyers with key information about your items. You can find the following:

* **Category:** Search or browse, and select a Category from the available options.

<figure><img src="/files/GdS5OtS6xiQVGXe7s2oC" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* **Reporting Category:** Specify a Reporting Category for the listing from the available options.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/QYltTSYcozJW38UAXCOS" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* **Modifier:** Select a suitable modifier for your listing. They are optional customization choices displayed during checkout.

<figure><img src="/files/xPLMcJQ8BT5cQhh3St8p" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* **Point Of Sale:** Enable this toggle to specify the locations your listing will be sold on. Turn on `Present at all locations` to sell the item at all available locations.

<figure><img src="/files/sJW7uQwZlXo7UId1VEhp" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**All data in this section must be set up directly in your Square admin. LitCommerce will then display them for selection.**
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="success" %}
**Utilize the Category Template for bulk editing.**
{% endhint %}

### <mark style="color:$info;">**Online Fulfillment Methods**</mark>

This section starts with three availability options, letting you control how each item can be sold by checking the corresponding boxes.

* **Available online:** Indicates that the item is listed for sale on your Square Online store.

* **Available for pickup:** Specifies that buyers can purchase the item online and collect it in person at a specific location.

* **Available electronically:** Indicates that the item is delivered digitally, with no physical pickup or shipping required. It is usually used for digital goods, memberships, downloads, e-gift cards, or online services.

<figure><img src="/files/rSytkKSVYbBpCFCCzETZ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Additionally, you can select your listing’s Product Type from Square’s predefined list.

<figure><img src="/files/FPJ4WL7pZsPhwdI09gvn" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### <mark style="color:$info;">**Images**</mark>

This tab displays images retrieved from the corresponding Main Store product. All images must meet [Square’s image requirements](https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/8267-upload-images-to-your-item-library).

Images cannot be added directly to the Images tab in LitCommerce. To update them, make the necessary changes in your Main Store and use the `Load Images From Main Store` button to reflect them in your Square listings.

<figure><img src="/files/zLExgkLAgVWOGcXTvJs1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="success" %}
**Simply drag and drop images in the Images tab to adjust their order. You can also remove the images by hovering over them and clicking `x` on the top-right corner.**
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/nteIwVtoXWVzVNtHnTl5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### <mark style="color:$info;">**Custom Attributes**</mark>

This section shows the custom attributes assigned to the corresponding products in your Main Store.

<figure><img src="/files/0dbeqC815VORyh28ZT0y" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**When existing Square custom attributes match those in your Main Store, LitCommerce will map them automatically. If none exist, the tool will create new ones on Square. Due to Square’s limit, only 10 new custom attributes can be created.**
{% endhint %}

## <mark style="color:$primary;">**Step 3: Publish Draft listings on Square**</mark>

Once all the necessary information is completed on the listing details page, you can save and publish the listing on Square. Look at the bottom-right corner and click on one of the buttons below:

* **Save & Publish:** Save and publish all changes immediately on Square.
* **Save Changes:** Save the changes and stay on the page to continue editing.

<figure><img src="/files/03dauWKHnDgXiMwne4Cx" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="success" %}
**To publish multiple listings at once, navigate to the Draft tab on the Square channel, select the listings, and then perform the action `Publish to Square`.**
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/pqG6gwhP11R39toHk6I3" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

After publishing successfully, the listings will be transferred from Draft to the Active tab.

<figure><img src="/files/WF7n7SQj7nmEbQWts7sN" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**If the provided information does not meet Square's requirements or policies, the listings will be moved to the Error tab.**&#x20;

**To resolve, open the listing details page, review the error messages, and make the necessary corrections before republishing.**
{% endhint %}
