Rules: Search For Value
Used for: Finding a value in one field and then assigning that value to another field if it's found.
Used in: Then-statements and Else-statements.
The "search for value" function is very helpful when your export channel needs details like "color", "brand" or "size" in separate fields. This information is often included in your item's description but may not be in a specific field. With the "search for value" rule, you can easily look through all your product-title to find a list of colors. If LitCommerce identifies a color in the Product Title, it can automatically fill the "color" field with that color. If you want to fill in your "brand" field instead, just choose the "brand" field and enter a list of brands in the Search value column.
The screenshot below shows how the example mentioned would look in LitCommerce.
In the example above, the "color" field is filled with the exact values found in the Search value column. By using the optional Set value to column, you can specify alternative values for the color field. This is especially helpful if you have misspellings or different ways to represent the colors.
Important: When using the Set value to list, ensure that you enter a replacement value on the same line for every item in the Search value list. If you wish to retain the original value from the "Search value" list, simply input the same value in the "Set value to" list. You must complete the entire list with the same value that you wish to enter.
